Friday 27th September

On European Languages Day this week we learnt some basic polish phrases and explored some books that some of our classmates had brought in from home.

Friday 13th September

This week in RE we have been learning about God's covenant with Moses. We used our collage skills to make our own burning bushes to remind us of the story.

Friday 13th September

Year 5 have had the opportunity to participate in 'Bikeability' this week. The children have learnt how to keep safe on the roads using their bikes.

Thursday 21st March

We watched a performance of The Hobbit by M&M Theatre Productions.

History- Thursday 7th March

In History we explored some of the most useful Victorian Inventions. We worked in groups to select an invention and persuaded our audience to buy our new product in the style of Dragons Den!

RE- Friday 1st March

We enjoyed visitors from the Ignite Team coming to lead workshops for us on the theme of reconciliation.

Science - Friday 5th January

To complete our Space topic we enjoyed designing paper rockets. We trialled changing the rocket length and number of fins to find the best design.

Science - Friday 17th March

As part of Science Week, we investigated how accurate Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man was by taking measurements.

PE - Wednesday 22nd February

We enjoyed some indoor team building games as part of our PE this week.

DT - Thursday 9th February

This week we completed our textiles project by making cushions. We used various different types of stitches to sew our cushions together. 

Geography - Tuesday 31st January

We were fortunate to be able to talk to an American, living in Florida about her experiences of hurricanes, blizzards and snowstorms as part of our Geography learning this week.

Chinese New Year - Tuesday 24th January

We were invited to East Norfolk College for a workshop to learn about Chinese New Year this week. We enjoyed making some traditional crafts and learning more about how they celebrate.

Art - Friday 13th January

We have been experimenting with different techniques in Art using fauvism painting as our inspiration.

RE - Friday 18th November

We were fortunate to have a visit from two experts from the Jewish community to teach us all about Passover.

Computing - Friday 21st October

We have been enjoyed working collaboratively on an online project using google slides in our Computing lessons.

PE - Friday 23rd September

We have been participating in team games as part of our PE lessons.

Roald Dahl Day - Tuesday 13th September

Children were invited to dress up as their favourite Roald Dahl character for the day. In class we enjoyed playing charades and working collaboratively to make life size characters from our favourite stories.

As part of our physical and mental well-being, year 5 take part in a daily mile where children can walk, jog or run for 10 minutes without stopping.
